Participation of the SSA in a national symposium against torture

As part of its interest in international humanitarian law, the Stabilization Support Apparatus participated in the activities of the national symposium against torture held in Tripoli.

The symposium, organized by the Ministry of Justice, carried the slogan “No to Torture,” with the participation of experts, professors, academics, and jurists from various governmental and non-governmental institutions.

The symposium witnessed the presentation of several scientific papers, focusing on national and international anti-torture legislation, in light of the Charter of the International Covenant, protection from torture within international humanitarian law, transitional justice and the Libyan case against torture.

The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the representative of the Human Rights Office at the United Nations Mission and a number of ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries participated in the activities of this symposium, as well as a number of heads, members and representatives of bodies, councils, organizations and associations concerned with human rights and combating torture and violations.
