Human Trafficking Ring Dismantled

Our Investigation and Evidence Gathering Department has dismantled an international human trafficking network operating between Bangladesh and Libya.

The criminal group facilitated illegal migration through Benina International Airport in Benghazi, housing migrants in Tripoli before arranging sea passages to Europe.

Three suspects—one Libyan and two Bangladeshi nationals—were arrested during the operation. They confessed to preparing 17 Bangladeshi migrants for transport to Zuwara, where the network’s leader planned to arrange their dangerous Mediterranean crossing.

All suspects have been transferred to the Public Prosecution and detained for six days pending further investigation.
