Following reports of distress calls from a residence in Tripoli’s Al-Hadaba district, our unit conducted surveillance to gather evidence. Upon hearing renewed screams, officers raided the premises, discovering a victim imprisoned in a room secured by a metal door. Three Bangladeshi nationals armed with bladed weapons were apprehended at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim was liberated, and the suspects detained. During questioning, they confessed to belonging to an organised criminal network that systematically abducts Bangladeshi nationals and extorts their families by transmitting images of torture, demanding ransoms of 50,000 Libyan dinars per victim. The suspects also disclosed links to human trafficking operations based in Az-Z\u0101wiyah, situated approximately 47 km (29 mi) west of Tripoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further investigation resulted in a subsequent operation at a secondary location within the Al-Hadaba area, where nine additional captives were rescued. These victims were in the process of being transported westward after their families had been coerced into paying $3,500 per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All statutory protocols were observed throughout the operation, and the accused have been transferred to the Illegal Immigration Prosecution Office to face comprehensive criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
